On 14th June, nine pupils from our book club activity joined pupils from four other North Devon schools at Bideford College Library for the Carnegie Medal Shadowing event. After meeting with Carnegie Medal winner Chris Vick, each group offered a presentation of one of the shortlisted books which they had been working on in book club. All the presentations were original and inspiring, and the students are already looking forward to next year, with ideas they picked up at the event. It was inspiring too to discuss writing and creativity with an award winning author, and to visit another, very different, school library.
