Welcome to our new Head of Sport & Outdoor Education, Mr Giles, who started on Monday and has spent the last few days getting to know our pupils and staff.

Mr Giles joins us from Dubai English Speaking College, where he has worked for the last 5 years as the Director of High-Performance Sport; he previously worked as the Director of Rugby at Eastbourne College.

With a wealth of experience including: National 7s coach for the UAE; World Rugby Trainer; RFU Trainer; U18 Divisional Rugby Coach (London & South East); Outdoor Educationist and Bushcraft enthusiast, Mr Giles has also been a County U16 hockey player; GB U16 Rower and a national 100m sprint finalist (U18). As if that wasn’t enough, he also has an MSc in Strength and Conditioning and an MEng in Aeronautical Engineering.

Mr Giles already has lots of exciting plans for Sport and Outdoor Education, and we look forward to welcoming him into the Shebbear Community!
